Dream:ON is the app to help influence your dreams. Over 11million dreams have been recorded so far! Before use, please read the IMPORTANT notes below.
• All Soundscapes are now FREE once youve downloaded •
Featured across the world on The BBC, LA Times, The Daily Mail, The Guardian, The Telegraph, Mashable, T3 and Sky News - launched at the Edinburgh International Science Festival 2012 by psychologist Professor Richard Wiseman from the University of Hertfordshire.
Dream:ON is showing results for about 50% of users who try it for a several nights in a row. It will not work for everyone and can take a number of nights to see results.
Approach the experiment with an open mind, try and forget your taking your phone to bed and remember controlled dreaming is not like turning on a tap, for some users it works the first night, others can take longer. As soon as you awake, complete the Dream Diary and feed back via the app so that we can continue to improve Dream:ON.

Dream:ON requires iOS 5.0 or greater.
— HOW DOES IT WORK? —
Put your device on the corner of the bed before going to sleep and Dream:ON begins monitoring your sleep pattern.
When it senses that you are dreaming, it plays a SoundScape which has been crafted to help create your desired dream.
"We have created a new way of carrying out mass
participation experiments. We still know relatively
little about the science of dreaming and this app
may provide a real breakthrough in changing how
we dream, and record and track those dreams."
~ Professor Richard Wiseman
Dream:ON contains a state-of-the-art monitoring engine which will optimise itself. Remember to record your dreams and experiences so everyone can have sweet dreams.
— THE SCIENCE —
Research has shown that most our dreams occur during REM sleep and that your mind is particularly alert to other senses during this stage of sleep.
Dream:ON plays the SoundScape to your subconscious during REM.
Almost everyone dreams several times each night. However, research suggests that people vary in their ability to incorporate the SoundScapes into their dreams and it may take several nights before Dream:ON is effective.
Lucid and controlled dreaming is not a new concept, however, using an iPhone to identify when you are at your most responsive, is. For many people who have mastered the art of lucid dreaming, this was a skill learnt over many years.
— THE EXPERIMENT —
You can view a graph of your movement during your sleep, tag Facebook friends who appeared in your dreams, and post a short description of your dream to our experimental Dream Bank.
The Dream Bank will be used to examine lots of different issues, including whether men and women differ in their dreams, how dreams vary with age, and if world events impact on the nations dreams. All data sent to Dream:ON is totally anonymous.

Pros and cons of Dream:ON app for iPhone and iPad
Dream:ON app good for
Ive been using this app for about 2 days and havent had a Lucid Dream yet, but I defiantly had the dreams I was aiming for. I also like the Dream Journal, the fact that it shows a chart of how you slept and wakes you up gently.
I love how you can do different themes on this the first night I chose Traveling the world IT AMAZED ME SO MUCH I HAD A DREAM WHERE I WAS TRAVELING TO DIFFERENT PLACES I cried when I woke up it was just beautiful
when I downloaded the app I wasnt sure what I was getting myself into. I had never heard of the app before but I stumbled upon it and it sounded very interesting. So far Ive had it for a week and each dream I have had using the app is effected by the soundscapes.
When I used the space shuttle one I had a relatively normal dream but near waking up I dreamt about a huge meteor shower that was going in circles and was just spinning and when I did the into the city soundscape I dreamt about taking my friend out of school to go to the city and shop. Non of my dreams have been full on soundscape where the whole dream is what the soundscape describes and Im yet to become lucid. I have noticed that ever since the use of the app began I am able to remember my dreams a lot better even when Im not using the app (sometimes Im at a friends house or too lazy to set it up). I can still remember most parts of a dream from last week when I first started using the app. Its nice having a dream journal but I have had nightmares and woken up in sobbing loudly to the point my mom had to ask if I was ok. I do enjoy the app though and will continue to use it
I absolutely love the app! Soundscapes are great and the alarm works like a charm.
So, I guess Ill be one of the happy people who write a review.. I was always a person who never dreamed.. Well atleast never remembered but I started the app and its cool because I remember dreaming when I wakeup, but I also am aware of the sound.. It ask u if u became aware of it and not every time I do sometime it annoys me and I know Im asleep and I even know what it is annoying me... Maybe thats a lucid dream Im not sure I never really experienced an actual one but I defiantly become aware of it.. The only thing is sometime when the music starts I end up waking up or half awake and the music doesnt quiet down until I reach and hit my phone then it does but thats the only bad thing I can come up with... I am more then happy participating in the study, as long as no subliminal messages are being broadcasted lol. Maybe they can make some different sounds and stuff idk Im happy with this app so far Ive been using it for like 2 weeks straight
Therere two more soundscapes for free. But its still too little.
And still couldnt delete the old dairy. Will see hows going to be.
Some bad moments
Every review on here sounds so over hyped, and all the excitement is an obvious lie to make you download this . its an app that doesnt even do anything or make sounds to help you dream it just tells you it did in the morning and lets you type what your dream was about but thats it. Dont waste your time .
So i set everything up and im ready to go to sleep, i put the phone down on the corner of my bed and the dream thing starts playing, but as soon as i make a slight movement the wake up alarm starts playing. I dont know why this is but it was very annoying and frustrating, i reset my phone and tried again and it didnt change, i even uninstalled the app and installed it again. No luck. Whos the idiot who programmed this. It doesnt even deserve one star.
This app was absolutely incredible until I updated to the new version of iOS. Now it doesnt work. As soon as I turn the iPhone over, the snooze feature goes off and cant be stopped. Im sad that this app was developed in 2012, and that its apparently dead now. Is there another app that does the same things? I miss the alarm after REM method of waking up. Help. :(
Okay, so whoever made this app is obviously no longer willing to keep it running. The app needs fixing due to new software upgrades from iphones. This app should also be released on the play store as well. It works for me but i cant get it to work on my iphone. PLEASE FIX THE BUGS AND DISPLAY.
Poop app I set the alarm for a specific time but it goes off 15 minutes into my sleep, fix your app
Its a neat idea if I could get it to work. The soundscape starts playing about 20 seconds after I lay my phone down, which makes it hard to fall asleep. The biggest issue however is that no matter what time I set the alarm to it goes off about 1 or 2 minutes after the soundscape starts. Every time. The slightest bit of movement sets the alarm off no matter what time it is and that just seems silly. Makes the app unusable as well.
